I Believe in the Good Things Coming

The idea for this mural was born after a gestation period that was the first half of 2020. When our
reality seemed to have been tossed around and reinvented by the powers that be. This mural’s thought
is to bring peace and tranquility to the neighborhood with a specific quote from a song called “Black as
Night”; by Nahko and Medicine for the People. “I believe in the good things coming”; is a prayer, a wish, a
belief, a mantra, something to hold on to in crazy times, something to carry us through troubled waters
and bring us to a safe shore. The landscape represents the bayou, meadows, prairie, and butterflies
native to our area.

About the Artist

Anat is a self-taught artist who jumpstarted her career in late 2008 after emigrating to Houston from
Israel. Her career’s start required her to paint as if life depended on it, and the process has extracted
her true self from within. With her street art, she reflects her notice of current affairs, injustices all over
the globe, social matters, and love for animals. Her challenges have helped mold her into an
independent woman whose art causes the audience to pause in intelligent reflection and appreciation
of beauty. She has an organic relationship with art-making that corresponds to a vital need, personal
balance, and identity. She has executed commissions all over Texas and the world, including India,
Germany, and the United Kingdom.
